Clynnog Cottage
PROPERTY DESCRIPTION
Formerly a crofter’s cottage, which housed an entire family, we have completely renovated this early nineteenth century property to provide and intimate but spacious one bedroom cottage.
Clynnog Cottage is a single storey residence with an extremely generous open plan living area replete with a wood-burning stove. The Cottage can be rented individually or provides a perfect ‘overspill’ space in conjunction with the larger Clynnog House- perhaps for members of your party who want early bedtimes!
ABOUT THE AREA
Close to Newborough Forest and its award winning beautiful beach, there are miles of woodland pathways to explore across the island. Accessed from this beach, Llandwyn Island, reputedly the home of the Saint of Welsh lovers, is the perfect place for a picnic, with its quiet secluded coves. Those lucky enough may spot the wild horses that inhabit the island.
Anglesey boasts 125 miles of stunning coastline and it makes an ideal place for walkers and birdwatchers- indeed the RSPB nature reserve is a short drive from Clynnog. There is also plenty to occupy the family, including the nearby Foel Farm Park and Anglesey Sea Zoo in Brynsiencyn. Plas Newydd (NT), home of Lady Anglesey, is also nearby, and Beaumaris with its mighty Edward the First castle, gaol and courthouse is well worth a visit.
The Welsh Mountain Zoo is another memorable option and the Snowdonia National Park, Caernarfon, Llanberis, Beddgelert and Betws-y-Coed are all a short hop back onto the mainland. Anglesey has numerous beautiful sandy beaches of which Red Wharf, Benllech Bays, and Trearddur Bay are our favourites with their clean sands and coves to explore.
