Plas Colwyn

PROPERTY DESCRIPTION

Situated in the centre of the village of Beddgelert in the heart of the Snowdonia National Park, Plas Colwyn is an elegant, stone-built, detached house that retains many original features and has been welcoming visitors to the area since the early 1800′s. This beautiful Grade II listed building is set in extensive grounds with large gardens and patio areas for guests to enjoy.

Located in the heart of the village amidst glorious mountain scenery and overlooking the river, the house is ideally situated for those seeking a family holiday, quiet escape or outdoor activity break.

ABOUT THE AREA

Possibly Snowdonia’s most charming village, Beddgelert’s history allegedly dates back to 700 AD when Christian missionaries settled the area. The village has enjoyed immense popularity with tourists- particularly walkers and mountaineers- since the early Victorian period. The village has excellent local amenities including a village store, a post office, three pubs, several restaurants and cafés and an award-winning ice cream parlour.

Attractions in the village include the Grave of Gelert (the legendary dog which saved the son of Prince Llewelyn) and the Sygun Copper Mine. The property is also an ideal base for walking and climbing in Snowdonia and mountain biking in Beddgelert’s forest.

With the beautiful beaches of Criccieth and Llyn Peninsula a short drive away, the Ffestiniog and Snowdon Mountain Railways within easy reach; the house is perfectly situated for those keen to explore the many attractions of North Wales including Port Merion, Caernarfon and Porthmadog.

The property is a short drive from a number of golf courses including Porthmadog (8 miles), Criccieth (11 miles) and Caernarfon (13miles). There are many outdoor activities within easy reach and, for those who want, paintballing and clay pigeon shooting is within reach.

Fantastic accommodation, wonderful weekend. Thankyou!

Ian, Mike, Meredith, Debbie and everyone else

A good time had by the Foxes from Yorkshire, Manchester, Rutland and London. Aged 3 to 74, plus 2 on the way! River banks swelled to soak the tricycle. Climbed Snowdon, great curry, lashings of ginger beer had by all. Great family friendly house which was perfect for our feral children. Thanks.

The Fox Family
